Companion Appendix:
Visual Evidence
As described in chapter nine, when I started to notice this pattern I began taking screenshots whenever I came across the profile of a person who identified as trans, non-binary, pansexual, agender, etc. You don't need to look through all the slides to see the pattern, but if you do, you will first see examples of severe and mild pallor. You will also see some examples of people without pallor, and people with healthy rosy glows to their skin. Then you will see a recent quick experiment where I simply set preferences on Hinge (a dating app) to non-binary and found 38 examples within 30 minutes. Lastly, you will see the original screenshots I took from different dating apps when I first wanted to investigate this pattern.
In some examples, it is unclear whether they might have pallor or not. It may be unclear because of lighting, makeup, filters, racial skin tone, inflammatory blushing from skin conditions such as rosacea, or also, they very well may simply not have pallor. It is, however, remarkably rare to find examples who clearly do not have pallor, and who clearly have a healthy skin tone ( < 1% ). Unsurprisingly, biological males appear to have less pallor compared to biological females.
Given the entire context of evidence, I believe it is undeniable that there is a very strong pattern here. Even if you are extremely skeptical and think half of the people might not have pallor, that is still a very strong pattern. Pallor is simply not this prevalent in the general population and is a serious sign of illness.
One may easily do their own investigation If they wish. You can simply make a dating app profile, like on Hinge, where you can select a city anywhere around the world. You can select a preference for people who identify as non-binary and see how common visible pallor is. Then you can look at cisgender profiles and compare.
A couple of preambles for those who care. This is in no way a moral judgment of anyone shown below or otherwise. I personally wish I didn't have to point this out. My only hope is that people will recognize that there is indeed an issue here, that there is a physical reason as to why there are such high rates of mental illness both among people with gender dysphoria specifically, and in the modern world more generally.
You will likely notice other facets of the pattern that will be discussed later in the book. For now, I will point out that it seems liberal is by far the most common political orientation, while spiritual and agnostic are the most common religious orientations. There is also a strong tendency towards alternative haircuts, hairstyles, and hair colours. Other possible facets will be discussed later in the book.
